  • Network: SBS (internationally, you can catch it on Viki and Viu)
  • Episodes: 10
  • Main cast: Ha Yoo-joon, Park Ji-hu, and Lee Seung-hyub
  • Where have I seen these people before? This is Ha Yoo-joon’s first leading role (he had a supporting role in ENA’s Namib last year). • Writer: Kim Min-cheol
  • Director: Kim Sung-yong (from MBC’s My Dearest)

Sa Kye (Ha Yoo-joon) was the charismatic vocalist and guitarist for top K-pop band The Crown โ€” until he was kicked out of the group and forced to enrol at Hanju University. His campus life is destined to be full of twists and turns after he meets Kim Bom (Park Ji-hu), a talented and bright musician who found in music the solace she needed after the passing of her mother. He can’t help falling in love with Bom, a relationship that will reignite his own passion for music. • Network: ENA/Genie TV (internationally, you can catch it on Netflix)
  • Episodes: 10
  • Main cast: Kang Ha-neul, Go Min-si, Kim Shin-rok, and Yoo Soo-bin
  • Where have I seen these people before? Most people will recognise Kang Ha-neul from Netflix’s Squid Game but for the classic K-drama fans, you might remember him from SBS’s Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Go Min-si is now a house name on Netflix, having recently starred in The Frog and Sweet Home. Kim Shin-rok has just finished MBC’s Undercover High School while Yoo Soo-bin has a supporting role in Weak Hero Class 2 (now on Netflix).

Even though he’s about to inherit a food company, he cares more about profit than quality. On the other hand, Mo Yeon-joo (Go Min-si) is an eccentric, talented chef who has dedicated her life to creating scrumptious meals. She also runs a restaurant โ€” a tiny one in the middle of nowhere. When Beom-woo and Yeon-joo find themselves working together in Jeonju, their relationship evolves in very unexpected ways.

Second Shot at Love

  • Network: tvN (internationally, you can catch it on Viki and Viu)

Jo Yoon-hee was last seen in SBS’s The Escape of the Seven series while this is Kang Hyung-suk’s first big role since tvN’s Love in Contract.
  • Writers: Myung Soo-hyun (from tvN’s A Poem a Day and JTBC’s Monthly Magazine Home) and Jeon Ji-hyun
  • Director: Jang Yoo-jung (this is her first K-drama; she directed 2020’s Honest Candidate and its 2022 sequel)

Han Geum-joo (Choi Soo-young) is a cheerful, sociable, and skilled car mechanic who has been working at a top Korean automobile company for a decade. She’s always considered herself a sensible drinker so she was completely shocked to receive a diagnosis of alcohol dependency. Her quest towards sobriety leads her to Seo Ui-joon (Gong Myung), her high school best friend and first love who has just moved back to their hometown from Seoul. Their reunion isn’t as nostalgic as Geum-joo expected since the sweet Ui-joon she knew has grown into a cold-hearted doctor. Ui-joo is unsympathetic towards Geum-joo’s situation as he hates alcohol. That only strengthens Geum-joo’s resolve to sober up and find out what happened to Ui-joo in Seoul.

Despite its 12-episode format, Spooky in Love has an old-fashioned charm to it. Its tone and aesthetics โ€” its strengths and weaknesses โ€” remind us of the K-dramas of yore, with their blend of romance, comedy, supernatural, and chaebol intrigue. That's what we're discussing together this week, and I really hope you join me! ๐Ÿ˜‰
I must confess that there's much about Spooky in Love that I simply adored โ€” but just because I fell in love with Yeo-ri and Gang-wook's little fairy tale doesn't mean it was an absolutely perfect show.

Hello, everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹ How are you all today? We're Hello, everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹
How are you all today?
We're back to our weekly reviews with Netflix's Our Sticky Love, which came out a couple of weeks ago!
Some call it a "rom-com", but I'm not so sure I agree with that description. Call me a purist, but Our Sticky Love isnโ€™t a proper rom-com. Itโ€™s the latest addition to the โ€œaction-thriller-romantic-comedyโ€ genre, with its mix of kisses and explosions, adorable makeshift dates and intense fighting scenes, yellow umbrellas and torture sequences.
The thing is, what makes Our Sticky Love special isn't its fight choreography or its intense action sequences, but the compassionate interactions between its ensemble cast.
We're talking about Netflix's Our Sticky Love tomorrow on The Blossom Review ๐ŸŒธ and on YouTube. I hope you stop by!

If you didn't see me yesterday, here's a quick recap: This week, I'm taking a break from reviews (I know: Netflix's Our Sticky Love has recently come out. Yes, I'd like to discuss it with you all. But, no, I couldn't review it this week, so we'll be talking about it soon! ๐Ÿฅบ I'm so sorry, everyone! ๐Ÿ™)
Anyway, instead of dramas, we're talking about literature this week! Yaaay! Yesterday, we talked about Japanese books, so today is the day for Korean books, of course! ๐Ÿฅฐ The second half of 2026 has arrived with some incredible new Korean literature in translation, so shall we choose our favourites and fill up our wishlists? Yes, please!
Here are some of the titles I'm looking forward to reading the most -- but you'll find a thorough list with 10+ Korean books coming out from July to December 2026 on The Blossom Review ๐ŸŒธ! I hope you stop by! Remember that you can find all our links in our bio ๐Ÿ˜‰
