Siren’s Kiss

์„ธ์ด๋ Œ
Romance | Thriller | Melodrama

  • Release date: March 2nd, 2026
  • Network: tvN (depending on your region, you can watch it on Prime Video)
  • Episodes: 12
  • Main cast: Park Min-young, Wi Ha-joon, Kim Jung-hyun, and Lee Elijah
  • Where have I seen these people before? Superstar Park Min-young is well-known by most โ€” if not all โ€” K-drama fans. Her most recent dramas include TV Chosun’s Confidence Queen, tvN’s Marry My Husband and Love in Contract. The great Wi Ha-joon was last seen in Netflix’s Squid Game series, while the amazingly talented Kim Jung-hyun had a supporting role in JTBC’s A Hundred Memories. This is Lee Elijah’s first K-drama since Coupang Play’s Decoy in 2023.
  • Writer: Lee Young
  • Director: Kim Cheol-gyu (from Netflix’s Celebrity)
  • Remake of Fuji TV’s Ice World, a Japanese drama written by Nozawa Hisashi (1999).

The official synopsis of Siren’s Kiss reads:

Cha Woo-seok (Wi Ha-joon) receives a mysterious call from an informant who claims to have evidence of a fraud-related murder. Before revealing the truth, the informant falls to her death. Woo-seokโ€™s investigation leads him to Royal Auction and its chief auctioneer, Han Seol-ah (Park Min-young), whose three fiancรฉs have all died under suspicious circumstances. To expose the truth, or perhaps to test her, Woo-seok proposes they fake a relationship. As he uncovers her secrets, he realizes he may have stepped into a web he canโ€™t escapeโ€”and that getting out could cost him everything.

Boyfriend on Demand

์›”๊ฐ„๋‚จ์นœ
Rom-com | Fantasy

  • Release date: March 6th, 2026
  • Network: Netflix
  • Episodes: 10
  • Main cast: Jisoo and Seo In-guk
  • Where have I seen these people before? Jisoo’s last K-dramas were Coupang Play’s Newtopia and JTBC’s Snowdrop, while Seo In-guk was last seen in Disney+’s forgettable Twelve (before Twelve, Seo led TVING’s hit Death’s Game alongside Park So-dam).
  • Writer: Namgung Do-young
  • Director: Kim Jung-sik (from tvN’s No Gain, No Love)

Seo Mi-rae (Jisoo) is an exhausted, hardworking webtoon producer who escapes the daily grind through a subscription-based virtual dating simulation called โ€œBoyfriend on Demandโ€. The program offers custom-made fantasy scenarios that introduce Mi-rae to boyfriends of her dreams and remind her of how much she actually yearns for romance.

Meanwhile, in the real world, Mi-rae works alongside fellow webtoon producer Park Gyeong-nam (Seo In-guk). Aloof yet competent, Gyeong-nam makes Mi-rae feel awfully uncomfortable around him. But, as fate forces them to spend more and more time together, Mi-rae might find her heart inexplicably drawn to him.

He’s assisted by brilliant lawyer Han Na-hyeon (Esom), a determined and calculating professional with a perfect win record. Even though Na-hyeon struggles to believe in I-rang’s predicament at first, she soon joins his quest for (paranormal!) justice.

  • Where have I seen these people before? Ha Jung-woo’s last K-drama was Netflix’s Narco-Saints in 2022, the same year as Krystal Jung’s last leading role in KBS2’s Crazy Love. The marvellous Lim Soo-jung was praised for her work as the evil villain in Disney+’s Low Life last year. You might remember Kim Jun-han in Coupang Play’s Newtopia or SBS’s hit Good Partner. The incredibly Shim Eun-kyung had a supporting role in TVING’s Way Back Love last April.

Climax

  • Network: ENA/Genie TV (internationally, you can watch it on Disney+ and Viki)
  • Episodes: 10
  • Main cast: Ju Ji-hoon, Ha Ji-won, Nana, Oh Jung-se, and Cha Joo-young
  • Where have I seen these people before? I’m sure everyone remembers Ju Ji-hoon in Netflix’s major hit The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call or Disney+’s excellent Light Shop. This is Ha Ji-won’s first K-drama since KBS2’s Curtain Call in 2022, while Nana’s last leading roles were in 2023 in Amazon Prime’s My Man Is Cupid and Netflix’s Mask Girl. The one-and-only Oh Jung-se was seen in JTBC’s Good Boy and Disney+’s Tempest last year, and Cha Joo-young last led tvN’s buzzworthy The Queen Who Crowns.

  • Director: Lee Ji-won

After celebrated actress Chu Sang-a (Ha Ji-won) married prosecutor Bang Tae-seop (Ju Ji-hoon), Bang quickly became one of the nation’s most popular prosecutors. However, the industry then deemed Chu past her prime, and she slowly fell into obscurity. On the other hand, Bang’s recent popularity allows him to join a power cartel and infiltrate the very top of the country’s elite with the help of his cunning informant, Hwang Jeong-won (Nana). The two of them find themselves dealing with Korea’s third-largest conglomerate, the WR Group, which is currently undergoing an internal power struggle between Lee Yang-mi (Cha Joo-young), the second wife of the group’s chairman, and Kwon Jong-uk (Oh Jung-se), the family’s eldest son.

Cabbage Your Life

Family | Dramedy

  • Release date: March 26th, 2026
  • Network: KBS2 (we’re still waiting to hear about international distribution)
  • Episodes: 12
  • Main cast: Park Sung-woong, Lee Soo-kyung, Lee Seo-hwan, Lee Jin-woo, Choi Gyu-rim, and Nam Mi-jung
  • Where have I seen these people before? Park Sung-woong’s last leading role was in TVING’s Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard, while Lee Soo-kyung hasn’t led a K-drama since KBS2’s Left-Handed Wife in 2019. I think everyone will recognise Lee Seo-hwan, who has had guest or supporting roles in several different series in the past years (most recently, you might have seen him in TVING’s Villains, Coupang Play’s Heroes Next Door, Disney+’s The Manipulated, JTBC’s The Dream Life of Mr Kim and My Youth, and so on). Nam Mi-jung is also known for her several guest and supporting roles, the most recent of which include tvN’s Typhoon Family, Wavve’s No Mercy, and JTBC’s Beyond the Bar. You might remember Lee Jin-woo in ENA’s Namib and Choi Gyu-ri in tvN’s Our Universe, which is currently airing.
  • Writer: Song Jeong-rim (from KBS1’s My Merry Marriage) and Hwang Hye-ji (from Wavve’s I Kill U)

Seong Tae-hun (Park Sung-woong) decides to move from Seoul to the little countryside village of Yeonriri with his family. Soon, his business begins interfering with the villagers’ peaceful lives, creating conflict between Tae-hun and the respected village head Im Ju-hyeong (Lee Seo-hwan). Ju-hyeong is married to the president of the women’s association, Nam Hye-seon (Nam Mi-jung), making them the most influential couple in Yeonriri. Things get even more complicated when their daughter, the charming Im Bo-mi (Choi Gyu-rim), grows closer to Tae-hun’s son, Seong Ji-cheon (Lee Jin-woo), a medical school dropout trying to figure out who he truly is and what he wants for his life.

  • Writer: Nam Sun-hye (from KBS1’s Suji & Uri)
  • Director: Lee Jae-sang (from KBS2’s Once Again)

Go Gyeol (Yoon Jong-hoon) is a cynical architect. He’s known for being a perfectionist and for never sparing anyone from his biting and arrogant remarks. Meanwhile, Jo Eun-ae (Uhm Hyun-kyung) is a clumsy but well-intentioned startup developer. Even in the face of the harshest treatment, Eun-ae never loses her hope and always treats everyone with kindness. Her goal is to create a humanist AI world. How are you all today?
A few months ago, a beautiful human being on YouTube asked me to review Lemino & WOWOW's Stove League, a Japanese remake of SBS's award-winning Hot Stove League. It took me a while to get to it, but I always keep my promises! ๐Ÿ˜†
So this week, we're talking about Stove League on The Blossom Review ๐ŸŒธ and YouTube! Oh, and over on Substack, we reviewed Tsutsumi Yukihiko's The Hotel of My Dream, too! Remember that you can find all our links in our bio ๐Ÿ˜‰
Have you watched Stove League? What did you think about it?
Have a lovely day today and a fantastic weekend ahead! I'll see you very soon! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Have you heard of NHK's My Family? This is a 2023 Japanese drama that came to Netflix a few months ago -- a series so unique, so special, and so beautifully done that I struggled to find the right words to review it.
But I did try anyway, and our complete review of My Family (aka "Kazoku Dakara Aishitan Janakute, Aishita no ga Kazoku Datta") is coming to The Blossom Review ๐ŸŒธ and YouTube tomorrow! ๐Ÿ˜‰
Over on Substack this week, I shared a very grumpy review of Abema's The Vacation Principle ๐Ÿ˜… Oh well, it happens. You can find all links in our bio!

Hello there! ๐Ÿ‘‹ How are you today? Despite its 12 Hello there! ๐Ÿ‘‹
How are you today?
Despite its 12-episode format, Spooky in Love has an old-fashioned charm to it. Its tone and aesthetics โ€” its strengths and weaknesses โ€” remind us of the K-dramas of yore, with their blend of romance, comedy, supernatural, and chaebol intrigue. That's what we're discussing together this week, and I really hope you join me! ๐Ÿ˜‰
I must confess that there's much about Spooky in Love that I simply adored โ€” but just because I fell in love with Yeo-ri and Gang-wook's little fairy tale doesn't mean it was an absolutely perfect show.
Our complete review of tvN's Spooky in Love is coming out on The Blossom Review ๐ŸŒธ and YouTube tomorrow! I hope to see you there! Remember that all our links can be found in our bio, okay?

(You know, for me, that's just shocking ๐Ÿ˜… I always wonder if time is flying for everyone or if it's just me!)
Anyway, it's time to talk about new K-dramas. September will be a fairly relaxed month, but we'll see dramas of different genres coming out on different platforms -- so we'll have some good options for everyone! ๐Ÿ‘
If you stop by The Blossom Review ๐ŸŒธ, you'll find our complete calendar of September releases (which we'll be updating throughout the next few weeks). Oh, and over on Substack this week, we reviewed ENA/Genie TV's Dream to You too! Remember that you can find all our links in our bio ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hello, everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹ How are you all today? We're Hello, everyone! ๐Ÿ‘‹
How are you all today?
We're back to our weekly reviews with Netflix's Our Sticky Love, which came out a couple of weeks ago!
Some call it a "rom-com", but I'm not so sure I agree with that description. Call me a purist, but Our Sticky Love isnโ€™t a proper rom-com. Itโ€™s the latest addition to the โ€œaction-thriller-romantic-comedyโ€ genre, with its mix of kisses and explosions, adorable makeshift dates and intense fighting scenes, yellow umbrellas and torture sequences.
The thing is, what makes Our Sticky Love special isn't its fight choreography or its intense action sequences, but the compassionate interactions between its ensemble cast.
We're talking about Netflix's Our Sticky Love tomorrow on The Blossom Review ๐ŸŒธ and on YouTube. I hope you stop by!
Oh, and over on Substack, we reviewed JTBC's The Apartment Job yesterday. You can find all our links in our bio ๐Ÿ˜‰

Are you alright?
If you didn't see me yesterday, here's a quick recap: This week, I'm taking a break from reviews (I know: Netflix's Our Sticky Love has recently come out. Yes, I'd like to discuss it with you all. But, no, I couldn't review it this week, so we'll be talking about it soon! ๐Ÿฅบ I'm so sorry, everyone! ๐Ÿ™)
Anyway, instead of dramas, we're talking about literature this week! Yaaay! Yesterday, we talked about Japanese books, so today is the day for Korean books, of course! ๐Ÿฅฐ The second half of 2026 has arrived with some incredible new Korean literature in translation, so shall we choose our favourites and fill up our wishlists? Yes, please!
Here are some of the titles I'm looking forward to reading the most -- but you'll find a thorough list with 10+ Korean books coming out from July to December 2026 on The Blossom Review ๐ŸŒธ! I hope you stop by! Remember that you can find all our links in our bio ๐Ÿ˜‰
