Time for New Series: 6 Korean Dramas Out in September 2026!

As the summer (or winter!) finally comes to a close, it’s time to welcome milder days with definitely-not-mild series! September 2026 promises to be a month full of thrilling and diverse K-dramas. Whether you’re looking for a new mystery or romance, slice-of-life or sageuk, September will surely deliver the brand-new Korean drama you’ve been craving!

• Network: Disney+
• Episodes: 6
• Main cast: Hyun Bin, Jung Woo-sung, Seo Eun-soo, Won Ji-ah, and Woo Do-hwan
• Where have I seen these people before? We’re happy to see the entire main cast of the first season of Made in Korea return for its sophomore run. In between the first and second season, you might have seen Won Ji-ah in JTBC’s Surely Tomorrow and Woo Do-hwan in Netflix’s Bloodhounds 2.

Years after the events from the first season, Baek Gi-tae (Hyun Bin) is now deputy director within the National Intelligence Service. Wealthier and more influential, Gi-tae continues to expand the drug operations throughout the region. As times become gradually more turbulent, prosecutor Jang Gun-yeong (Jung Woo-sung) finally sets his revenge in motion. Between political chaos and personal vendettas, Gi-tae and Gun-yeong are determined to eliminate each other once and for all.

Ahn Eun-jin’s last project was SBS’s incredibly popular Dynamite Kiss, while you might remember Lee Joo-ahn from ENA/Genie TV’s Dream to You or tvN’s Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. Jo A-ram was last seen in MBC’s To the Moon.

Seo Hyeon-woo has recently had supporting roles in Disney+’s A Shop for Killers 2 and ENA/Genie TV’s Your Honour, while you might be currently watching Oh Dae-hwan in ENA/Genie TV’s New Recruit Season 4: Sabotage, or you might recall him as the quirky team leader from tvN’s Filing for Love.

Gong Eun-tae (Lee Jun-hyuk) is an ordinary office worker whose daily routine and relationships never change: today is exactly the same as yesterday and tomorrow will surely be just like today. That’s when change arrives in the most surprising of ways: Eun-tae wins the lottery, but soon realises that, realistically, he can’t do much with his newly granted 1.3 billion won (~$800,000 USD). • Where have I seen these people before? This is Son Ye-jin’s first television project since JTBC’s Thirty-Nine in 2022. But I’m sure everyone recognises her from tvN’s mega-hit Crash Landing on You (more recently, she also starred in Park Chan-wook’s No Other Choice). Ji Chang-wook has become a household name on Disney+ after starring in The Manipulated, Gangnam B-Side, and The Worst of Evil. Nana has recently starred in ENA/Genie TV’s Climax.

• Director: Jung Ji-woo (from 2019’s Tune in for Love)
• The Scandal is a remake of Untold Scandal (2003, dir. E J-yong), which is, in turn, loosely inspired by the 1782 French novel Dangerous Liaisons (Les Liaisons dangereuses) by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. The same novel inspired MBC’s Tempted in 2018.

According to Netflix,

The Scandal depicts the daring and dangerous love game between Lady Cho (Son Ye-jin), a woman whose exceptional skills far exceed the confines of the women’s quarters, and Cho Won (Ji Chang-wook), the greatest playboy of Joseon. Their risky bet ensnares another woman, Hui-yeon (Nana), who becomes entangled in their escalating deceit. Based on the 2003 film Untold Scandal, this series tells a story steeped in forbidden love and irresistible seduction in an era when such passions were not permitted.

• Where have I seen these people before? Some of Bona’s most recent projects include SBS’s The Haunted Palace and TVING’s Pyramid Game. You might remember Park Seo-ham in tvN’s Our Universe earlier this year or Disney+’s The Murky Stream last year. This is Jang Deok-su’s first main cast credit after a series of guest and supporting roles (including in tvN’s Filing for Love and Pro Bono). The same goes for Moon Seung-you, who has recently had guest and supporting roles in MBC’s A Bona Fide Killer, SBS’s Would You Marry Me?, and tvN’s Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.

Twin siblings Yun Ha-na (Bona) and Ha-ru (Jang Deok-su) are well-known around Korea. While Ha-na is a prestigious actress, Ha-ru is an admired national judo athlete. A mysterious incident not only leads Ha-na and Ha-ru to swap bodies, but also to travel back in time. That’s when Ha-na, in Ha-ru’s body, reencounters Jung Woo-jae (Park Seo-ham), her first love who died protecting her. Ha-na becomes determined to use this miraculous opportunity to save his life.

• Where have I seen these people before? Jung Min-ah has recently guest-starred in JTBC’s We Are All Trying Here and The Atypical Family. She also had supporting roles in tvN’s Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist Season 2 and MBC’s Doctor Lawyer. Dong Ha was last seen in KBS2’s Homemade Love Story in 2020 (you might also remember him in SBS’s Judge vs. Judge or Suspicious Partner).

Kang Da-mi (Jung Min-ah) and Cha Seung-yun (Dong Ha) belong to two different families, but their matriarchs are equally crazy.
